Caught between captivity and hope—Eritrean refugees face one of the world’s most brutal migration routes.

Between the Desert and the Fire is a gripping documentary chronicling the terrifying journey of Eritrean refugees fleeing repression, only to face new dangers across Sudan, Egypt, and the Sinai. Many fall victim to trafficking, forced labor, and organ trade—some never make it beyond the desert. Through powerful interviews and raw visual testimony, the film reveals the trauma, fear, and endurance of a people desperate for freedom.

Filmed in refugee camps and transit zones across Sudan and Eritrea, the documentary gives voice to the voiceless—those trapped in cycles of violence with no safe route forward. Without sensationalism, it captures the human cost of a crisis rarely shown on screen.
