WHO I AM
Hi there! I'm Yasser Ashour, a director and producer who splits my time between Cairo and Amsterdam. Over the past 16 years, I've had the pleasure of working on exciting and diverse projects, including feature documentaries, TV shows, branded content, and heartfelt human stories in more than 20 countries. Whether I’m filming a humanitarian project in Sudan or directing a global commercial for FIFA, I always strive to bring a cinematic touch to the stories I tell.
I've explored storytelling across the Middle East, Africa, and Europe, focusing on topics that connect us all. I started my career as a motion designer and editor, and eventually transitioned into field-based storytelling. Now I love blending cinematic flair with meaningful narratives in each project I take on.
With 16 years of experience under my belt, I create engaging documentaries, dynamic advertisements, and impactful shows that reflect the rich variety of non-fiction storytelling. Let's tell some amazing stories together!
MY PHILOSOPHY
Style with Substance
I love creating content that strikes a balance between emotional truth and clear visual storytelling. I like to mix in elements like vérité, performance, and archival material, making sure it fits the vibe of each project. Whether I'm working on a docuseries, a digital show, or an ad, I see each project as a fun collaboration driven by research, respect, and a good rhythm. I believe in keeping our teams small, communicating openly, and exploring bold ideas that connect with people on a personal level.
